Hello hello, it’s Justine! Easter is tomorrow and I just couldn’t help myself….LOOK WHAT I MADE GIRLIES! Easter Egg Oreo Truffles! And the best part?? You only need THREE INGREDIENTS to make them! YAS.
I’ve been LONG OVERDUE for some totes adorbz Spring treats, so I’m EXCITED to share these little cuties with you! CHEK ‘EM! I used GOLDEN Oreo’s because it seemed a bit more SPRINGY!
Seriously, girls, this recipe is SO EASY AND DELICIOUS! I took these to a friend’s birthday party and they were gobbled up in MINUTES! XO- Justine
- 1 package Golden Oreos
- 1 (8 oz.) brick cream cheese, softened
- Candy Melts (in various colors)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Put the Oreos in a food processor and mash them up until evenly crumbled. If you don’t have a food processor you can just smash them up in plastic bag (plus it’s slightly more fun)! After your cookies are all crumbled up add the cream cheese and blend together until the mixture is smooth!
I already had a silicone egg mold which I used to shape the truffles but if you don’t have one NO WORRIES! Use a spoon to portion out the dough into balls and then roll by hand into egg shapes. Place the eggs on baking sheets and chill in the fridge (or freezer) until hardened.
While the eggs are hardening, it’s time to melt your melts!! I stuck them in microwave safe cups and melted them on LOW LOW heat to make sure they didn’t burn!
Using a fork dip the eggs into the melted candy until they are evenly coated. After you’ve coated the eggs place them BACK into the fridge until the chocolate has hardened!
Now for the FUN PART! Melt your colors and either using a fork or a piping bag decorate your eggs in whatever design you want!!!
BOOM! You did it! Serve them immediately or refrigerate them for up to 1 week!
